Welding slag, cutting swarf, jointing compound, millscale and general construction debris are left behind in newly installed pipework as a matter of course, and if that debris isn't removed before a system is filled, dosed and put into service, it becomes the root cause of the failures that show up months or years later: blocked strainers, seized valves, eroded pump impellers, fouled heat exchangers and premature corrosion.

Our Process

Pre flush survey and method statement
Before any water moves, we survey system layout, identify isolation points, strainer locations and low velocity risks.

Circulation velocity flushing
We use temporary pumping equipment to achieve and sustain BSRIA BG29 minimum velocities across all pipe diameters.

Debris removal and strainer monitoring
Temporary strainers are fitted and logged at regular intervals to objectively verify system cleanliness.

Chemical cleaning where required
Degreasing and dispersant agents appropriate to system metallurgy are applied and thoroughly rinsed.

Passivation and inhibitor dosing
Dosing corrosion inhibitor and biocide to establish protective internal passivating layers.

Verification and commissioning
Water sampling for suspended solids, iron content, and pH, logging flow rates against design values.
